JDL LATEST NEWS – FEBRUARY 2016

Published 22/02/2016

Well, what a start to 2016 we have had.

The construction industry does not seem to be slowing down, and our ever growing order book is proving that. As well as moving into our first office building with attached storage, our team has expanded with the addition of 2 new full time staff.

JDL have secured two major demolition / strip out projects over the last week. This will keep our commercial teams very busy for the next 6 weeks.

Compton House, Guildford will see us take down and remove over 3400m2 of suspended ceilings, 1900m2 of glazed and solid partitions, 115 door sets and 8 WC blocks.
B

Barratt house, Oxford street, has a very challenging chimney breast which will be demolished to allow a new flue from basement to roof. The chimney breast spans over 7 floors including the roof. All works have to be completed out of hours to keep disruption to the busy office to a minimum.

JDL have also been given an initial instruction to complete the refurbishment of Stevenage based company, BAMA. The refurbishment will be carried out in two phases, includes altering the existing layout, new decoration and new floor coverings.

Domestically, we have been given the go ahead on two local extensions. One double storey with big internal alterations, and a single storey extension to form a new dining room.

Director Jamie Logan said “ Securing these 3  projects has been a big breath of fresh air for us. We have worked tirelessly over the last 2 years to enter the commercial market, and our hard work is finally paying off. As well as the projects we are still winning domestically, 2016 is proving to be a very busy year. We look forward to all of the challenges that it puts our way. Moving into our first premises and growing our team has allowed for more focus on dealing with customers directly. As a result I can tender for more projects. If there is anything that we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact me!”

2015 AT JDL

Well, what a year 2015 has been in the construction industry.

JDL has taken full advantage of the booming economic climate in the construction industry in 2015. We now have 4 new projects to start in 2016.
As a company, we are proud to say our workload has been busier than ever across both the domestic and commercial sectors. We have completed all of our projects with excellent reviews from our customers.

During the year, domestically we have carried out 1 New Build, 5 Extensions, 3 Garage conversions as well as some general refurbishments and landscaping.

Commercially we have had our best year ever. We have refurbished 6 offices around Hertfordshire and London, securing 3 new facilities maintenance contracts, and 2016 does not seem like it is going to slow down.

As a company, we have secured full accreditations from Constructionline and CHAS, and taking on board a full time Health and Safety advisory company. This proves to our clients that we take Health and Safety very seriously, and will continue to do so. We are also delighted that we have outgrown our existing premises. We will be moving into bigger units early in 2016.

Director Jamie Logan said “2015 has been our best year ever to date, and 2016 looks even better. This is a credit to our team, who never let us down. We have had some excellent projects, as well as some difficult ones, but we have pulled together on all of them and completed them to our usual excellent standards. Thanks to all our clients in 2015, and we look forward to working with you all in 2016”

NOVEMBER 2015 – JDL LATEST NEWS

Another exciting quarter for the JDL!

We are tendering for more work now than ever, and our establishment in the commercial sector is coming along nicely. The past 3 months has seen down difficult challenges for us Domestically and Commercially, but have come through with flying colours. From excavations and drainage 2.2m in the gound on a Domestic extension in Graveley. Hertfordshire, up to us securing a facilities management contract on a block of offices in a main high street in Baldock, Hertfordshire.

The future is also looking promising with tender opportunities coming from Local councils and authorities, Building surveyors and direct with companies over the south east to refurbish and maintain their buildings and offices. This is in conjunction with our Domestic works, which tend to slow down this time of year with the usual british weather and christmas quickly approaching.

We are also happy to announce that our new apprentice, Kai Brown is also enjoying his time here. His first couple of months have seen some challenging projects to say the least, but he is still with us and learning more and more every day.

Overall a great quarter for us all, with the hope that it continues into the new year.

NEW ADDITION

Published 11/10/2015

Our company is growing and we have a new addition, Kai Brown has joined us on a 2 year Apprenticeship scheme. Apprenticeships are fantastic opportunities for young people, and we are delighted to have Kai on board.
Kai said ” This is a great opportunity for me to learn my skills for my career. JDL is a growing company, Jamie and the other guys always find the time to help me. I have always wanted to work in the construction industry, and I thank Jamie for giving me this chance.”

As a company we believe in the apprenticeship scheme, and feel they are an excellent way to build skills. In turn, it helps the company over a long period of time.
